The Nigerian government has taken bold steps in area of teacher education. Thus, from way-back early 1960s, apart from establishment of several teachers training colleges, the government  further established a higher level teacher training institute, Popularly called Advanced Teachers‟ Colleges. These institutions were aimed as mid-point institutions, which would primarily train teachers for the primary schools.
